Bangladesh Trial Report:

“Wait for it, you will definitely see surprises. Now that I have been given this responsibility, Insha’Allah, there are many surprises in store. They will begin within the next few days.”

Education Minister A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon made the remarks while speaking to journalists on Tuesday (February 17), after taking office as minister.

Responding to questions from journalists, the education minister said, “In a word, we need to introduce an international education system. We live in a global village, and global competitiveness must become part of our education system. It is no longer a local commodity; it is an international commodity.

“We must develop fourth-generation industrial capabilities in areas such as nanotechnology, artificial intelligence and biotechnology. We must attach importance to industry-academia linkages. Debate, technical and vocational education must also be prioritised.

“We have witnessed a massive decline in the education system. Extensive changes are needed in education. I have said in a nutshell that education is an international commodity. We must bring our education system up to international standards. There is no alternative to this.

“I have won regardless of political affiliation, and I will work for everyone. My expectation is to make my upazila the best—not only in education, but also by eliminating drugs and tackling corruption, among other challenges.”
