The Scream franchise has been winning the hearts of horror-thriller fans for three decades. Its seventh instalment, Scream 7, packed with fear and mystery, is set to hit theatres in the United States and several other countries on Friday (February 27). The American slasher film will also be available at Star Cineplex in Bangladesh from the same day.

The seventh instalment in the Scream franchise is a sequel to Scream VI, which was released three years ago. Kevin Williamson, the original writer of the series, makes his directorial debut with Scream 7. The latest chapter tells the story of a terrifying new masked killer who targets Tatum, the daughter of Sidney Prescott. As a result, Sidney is forced to confront her past.

Neve Campbell and Isabel May play the roles of mother and daughter, respectively. Canadian actress Campbell appeared in the first five films in the series but was absent from Scream VI. American actress Isabel May joins the franchise for the first time in this instalment.

Among the returning stars from previous films are Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, David Arquette, Matthew Lillard and Courteney Cox. Roger L. Jackson also returns as the voice of Ghostface, as he has done in all six previous instalments.

New additions to the cast include Anna Camp, Michelle Randolph, Jimmy Tatro, Mckenna Grace, Asa Germann, Celeste O’Connor, Sam Rechner, Mark Consuelos, Tim Simons and Joel McHale.

Scream 7* is distributed by Paramount Pictures. The film has a runtime of one hour and 54 minutes and was made on a budget of $45 million. Fans believe Scream 7 could mark the final chapter of the franchise. However, if the latest instalment proves to be a major success, more sequels could follow in the future.
